Current travel restrictions and regulations for countries in Latin America
With vaccination programs well advanced all over the world, countries have begun to open up to travel with certain restrictions. Since corporations are beginning to consider and plan business trips, it’s important to have an updated picture of the rules and regulations the different markets and tourist destintions in the area have for foreign visitors regarding COVID-19.
Foreigners planning to travel to Argentina must show proof of their completed vaccination process, proof of a negative result from a PCR test taken no more tan 72 hours prior to the trip and health insurance with COVID-19 specific coverage.
Brazil is one of the countries with les restrictions for foreign travelers. A negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before travel or 24 hours for the antigen test. A traveler health declaration form must be filled in online previously and can be presented either physically or digitally.
Chile has the greatest amount of rules for incoming travelers. A Mobility Pass must be filled and completed online 15 days before the trip. Additionally, a Sworn Digital Declaration must be completed 48 hours before the trip. Proof of Medical Insurance with specific COVID-19 coverage of at least US $ 30,000 must be presented. A negative PCR test taken 72 hours before the trip must be presented and the traveler must initiate a 5 day quarantine at the hotel or residence where they plan to stay. No connection flights may be boarded until the stated requirements have been fully completed.
For travel to Colombia no test results are required. The Check-Mig form must be filled in before travel. Once in the country, the government has decreed that people who want to attend restaurants, concerts, movies and other public events and venues, must present their proof of vaccination with at least the first dose.
Health insurance with specific coverage for COVID-19 and a Health Pass to be completed online are required to enter the country.
A Traveler Health Declaration and a negative PCR COVID-19 test are required for incoming travelers. Proof of vaccination must also be presented.
Tavelers with proof of full vaccination con enter the country with no restrictions. Travelers who do not present proof of vaccination are required to present a negative PCR test taken no more tan 72 hours before the trip. All travelers must fill the Dominican Republic E-Ticket form before income travel and before outbound travel.
Mexico is open to all travelers. The Questionnaire for Health Risk Identification in Travelers must be filled in and presented to the inmigration officer.
